Information about Butte County Pioneer Memorial Museum...

First opened in 1932, the “Relics House” has expanded to display a wide variety of “stuff” from our pioneer days. Here you can see; a doll from the Donner Party, a replica of the Dogtown Nugget, the Oroville Fire Chief’s horse-drawn cart; it’s a stroll though your history!   Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m., closed Dec-Jan

Exhibits

Many gold rush period items, including a gold needle used in an early mining camp, and a doll from a Donner Party survivor. Our fire department display now includes the Oroville Fire Chief's horse-drawn cart.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
