About Manton
In 2005 the town of Manton CA was overrun by a forest fire that destroyed over 40% of the entire town. Thankfully there were no injuries but the fire took a devastating toll on the physical appearance of the town which now is just coming back to life. The town does have some heavenly help as the St. John of San Francisco Monastery is located in Manton CA. The monastery is a good tourist draw as it is actively a member of the Diocese of the Orthodox Church in America. This makes for a very interesting stay at the town since where there is good sometimes there is, ghost. Manton has a reputation for spooky things and a vacation centered on Halloween would be your best bet. Manton CA is full of un-received souls just waiting to give you a good scare and there are tours down Bailey Creek that will scare the daylights out of you!
There is another lake that is well known in Manton CA and that is Carole Lake. Great fishing and swimming are the rage at this beautifully clean lake. This lake is said to have a specter of a waitress who appears and tosses rocks into the lake at midnight. Spooky! But not all things in Manton CA are paranormal; most of the activities there are quite natural and very entertaining. A vacation that starts in Manton will leave you with terrific tales and maybe even a ghost sighting or two!
After a day of playing in the cool waters of Carole Lake coupled with a night of chasing ghost or being chased by ghost it is nice to snuggle up in a great cabin. The town of Manton CA has a great variety of cabins and cottages that are designed to please and provide a nice restful sleep.
