About Gridley
A visit to the town of Gridley CA is one that you will certainly not forget. The Butte County town is known for its funny shaped fruit that everybody loves, the kiwi. The town is known as the 'Kiwi Fruit Capital of the World'. Gridley is located just a stones throw from the larger town of Chico and the two towns are actually mingled together. But make no mistake, any vacation to Gridley is not the same as a vacation to Chico, the differences make these small Northern California towns very wonderful and unique indeed. Gridley CA is located in the Shasta Cascade Mountain area of Northern California and is one of the oldest counties in the State of California.
Gridley CA is located right off famous Highway 99, which was and still is a major thoroughfare up and down the State of California. The charm of the city of Gridley can be under estimated as a visit of this town seems like you are stepping back to the old gold rush days of California. With plenty to see and much more to eat the town offers some of the best fruit and vegetables in the entire Butte County region. Being that Gridley is right off of the Highway 99 corridor with Sacramento just 60 miles south, this brings so much truck traffic and recreational travelers to the town that it has almost a small metropolitan field to it. A trip to Gridley would not be complete without a visit to the historic downtown area which is known for its authentic small town shopping feel and a great many boutique and cafes that give Gridley its feel. The accommodations are plentiful in Gridley with most of them being bed and breakfasts and camp sites as well.
