About Dorris
The City of Dorris California is located in Siskiyou County California and is a very beautiful location indeed. Dorris is located in the Butte Valley region between Mount Shasta and the Oregon border on Highway 97. It is home to what was once the countries tallest flag pole west of the Mississippi. In 2002 a larger pole was erected in Laredo Texas and Dorris was dropped down to second place. That’s okay since they are first in the enjoyment of a family vacation so this will be great for you and yours. Although not a huge town, embodies everything that a wonderful family vacation would need from a town.
The village of Dorris was one of the first US/Mexican border claims and was annexed to California in 1848. Most of the population is made up of seasonal migrant workers from Mexico that settled the area a long time ago.
