About Chico
In the Shasta Cascade Mountain region of Northern California there lays a very special town, that town is Chico CA. The town was originally built as part of the 28,000 acre Bidwell Ranch, a philanthropic family that donated land to anyone willing to build a home or shopping structure in the surrounding area. Through the Bidwell's generosity, the town of Chico CA emerged.
Chico has always been known for its quaint charming town folk with a great mix of young urban students and mom and pop type residents. The town covers about 35 square miles of land and is nestled in the Northern Sacramento Valley. Any visitor wanting to see a town that has it all in regards to Northern California history and beauty has to take a trip to Chico CA.
Chico CA has a vibrant downtown area with many fantastic eateries including Jon & Bon's Yogurt Shoppe, Old Town Root Beer Co., Madison Beer Garden, and the famous The Graduate restaurant. If you’re planning on bringing the family or just yourself to Chico CA during the spring and summer months there will be a plethora of vendors, musicians, and community organizations that are the bench mark for the Chico's Farmers Market that is held every Thursday evening and Saturday morning.
Another great place to visit would be the Serra Nevada Brewing Company located close to the Chico Mall, in Chico CA. Guest are allowed to take a tour of the world famous brewery and even stay for dinner and a nice pint of beer, which sounds exciting doesn't it? The tours are free of charge and are offered throughout the day so anytime is a good time to visit the actual brewery. This makes Chico CA an extremely popular spot for both the local student body and you the visitor who is a little bit thirsty.
Another great facet of Chico CA is its natural beauty. The entire Shasta Cascade region is well known for its stunningly breathtaking view and Chico does not disappoint in that area. With old mining and agriculture and a load of fascinating tourist spots and locations, the town of Chico offers something for everyone especially those interested in California's history and United States history for that matter. With a variety of small Bed and Breakfasts and many places to eat, a vacation to Chico CA is one not to be missed. The cost has never been lower and considering the overall value that is the center of attraction for Chico it is a great time to make a visit.
