About Beckwourth


This beautiful Shasta-Cascade town, Beckwourth California, is situated in the convex of the Cascade and Shasta Mountain Ranges. One of the most famous areas of the town is the Beckwourth Path. Mr. Beckwourth, a mountain man and explorer, is credited with discovery of the path in 1850. Beckwourth later developed his Beckwourth Trail which originated from Truckee Meadows all the way north to Beckwourth Trail and then west through the counties of Plumas, Butte and Yuba and into the Great Central Valley and ending in Marysville California. Any family vacation to northern California has to include a trip to Beckwourth.

The area that is now Beckwourth CA was once an Indian-held territory that still has the artifacts from that earlier civilization present in its hills and valleys. The arrowheads and the broken sometimes whole pottery pieces are found every now and then and this makes the town of Beckwourth California a great location for the exploring discoverer.
