There is an active volcano in Northern California and it can be seen from the town of Shingletown California. Mount Lassen Peak is the southern most active volcano in the Cascade Range. It is part of the Cascade Volcanic Ark which is an ark that stretches from Northern California all the way into British Columbia. Lassen Peak is well known as the only volcano in the Cascade other than Mount Saint Helens to erupt during the 20th century. The date was May 22, 1915, and an explosion erupted at Lassen Peak which devastated near by towns and cities for up to 200 miles away.

The town of Shingletown has rebuilt itself and is one of the best places to take a family vacation. There are a few great places to eat there and the rooms for rent are enough even in the busiest of the season. So saddle up and take the family north to Shingletown CA where the fun never ends!
