The town sits at the base of Mount Shasta on the north shoreline of Lake Shasta and provides easy access to every part of the famed Shasta Lake and the piney forest that dots the landscape. As you start out on your Lake Shasta Caverns expedition, you will board a boat in Shasta Lake that could be only minutes away from your cottage or cabin in O’Brien California. Once you get across the lake, which is a beautiful ride in itself. Then you are able to hop aboard a bus and climb Mount Shasta and then you’re at the caverns. Once inside the caverns a new world of underground California will be open for your eyes. Once done with the cavern tour it’s back on the boat and back to O’Brien CA and continuing your magnificent journey of Northern California especially the Shasta Cascade Region.
